How Old is Your Cat in Human Years?

What a cat’s age is equal to in human years…

There are some calculators and formula you can find online and use to convert a cat’s age to its equivalent in human years so to speak.

According to Calculator Cat, the first year is equivalent to 15 years. On the cat’s second birthday, add 10 years. Then add 4 years for every birthday that follows.

What this is saying is that when a cat is two years old, she/he has matured to about the same as a 25 year old human.

Mama Lucky – was about a year old or younger when we adopted her in July 2011 (1 + 4.17 = about 5 years or a bit younger)
Aiko – was born with Oue around mid-November of 2011 (2 mos short of 4 years)
Oue – was born with Aiko around mid-November of 2011 (2 mos short of 4 years)
Umeko – was born on March 21, 2012 (3.5 years)
Splash – was born on March 21, 2012 (3.5 years)
Cotton – was born on March 21, 2012 (3.5 years)
Snoozie – was born on March 21, 2012 (3.5 years)
Dancer – was born on March 21, 2012 (3.5 years)
